hello Eastside Families my name is Doctor Scott and I have the privilege of being the principal here at Eastside Elementary first and foremost I want to say thank you for your patience through this trying time of I wanted to talk with you about the changes we've made and hopes that it provides you parents some peace of mind as we make every effort to keep a child safe and well you're a few examples of the changes we've made masks just a reminder all students will need to wear a mask there were times during the day that breaks will be given to students but for the most part we all will be wearing them throughout the day during this covid time a very limited number of hi visitors will be allowed into the school unfortunately that means that we will be unable to have parents walk their students to their classroom or come in to eat lunch this will be the hardest for our parents of kindergarten Stewart and just know that we will take care of good care of them as they are coming into the school as you prepare your kindergarten child for coming in on the 1st day do me a favor please pin something to their shirt that has their full name and their teachers name as well if you're a parent in our second grade with mrs. poor I want to let you know that she's on a leave of absence and in her place is mrs. Maureen giant filling in for her social distancing we made things in place to help with social distancing as much as we can if your child eats breakfast at school this will be handed out to them as they walk in the door and then they will beat this will be taken to their classroom and eaten in the morning at lunch time rather than have eight students at a table will only have four during recess or classes will be separate isn't the zones and each will have their own area to play a restroom schedule has been made to try and keep classes for passing each other in the hallway water bottles we handed out to each student to avoid using water fountains and hand sanitizer stations have been added throughout the building our specials teachers art music PE and Library will also be pushing into the classroom could since to continue with our plan have the least amount of contact with others as possible I know that none of this is ideal But please understand that we will do our best to keep your child safe we are so excited to see your student our students and your kids. thank you again for partnering with us at Eastside Elementary
