Freeman I teach 4th grade plus and I'm mrs. I teach 3rd grade plus welcome to the eat new news this is the news for the week of Tuesday September 8th to Friday September 11th food distribution will take place tomorrow from 10 to 1 p.m. just a reminder that E2 where orders are in money are due no later than 3 tomorrow afternoon and now it's time for the word of the week this week's word is perseverance perseverance means the ability to keep working toward a goal even when it's tough to read a book lower than your reading level no it's fine to read a book below your reading level but since it's not a challenge it doesn't take perseverance does it take perseverance to do remote learning yes when learning how to do something new like remote learning it a lot of perseverance to get comfortable with it what about learning a new sport does that take perseverance what do you think and remember to use the word while speaking and writing our theme this month is mindset lines that has to do with how someone approaches learning something new or approaches a problem that needs to be solved if someone has a fixed mindset are more likely to give up when trying something new or solving a difficult problem if someone has a growth mindset they know that the hard work and perseverance they can learn anything almost anything and another cool thing about having growth mindset is that it strengthens and changes our brains so we can learn to do even more things let's see if any of our fabulous Steph has use a growth mindset to learn something new hi I miss was Blalock and my growth mindset allowed me to learn how to sew and quilt I'm mrs. and having a growth mindset has helped me learn how to clog dance hi boys and girls I missed and I my growth mindset help me to power through when things were tough to work on a bitmoji classroom for my students and the cool thing about the bitmoji classroom is they can click here and math manipulatives come up and they can use math manipulatives and this is a social emotional activity I'm helping kids to think before they react and they even have links to things I need like clever here where do we have great teacher the Eastside are such as a group as well and now it's time for the shut up this is a shout out to first grader Tyreke Henry for being so much you can count on a participating Zoom meetings and assignment that's awesome Miss Bennet would like to give a shout out to second grader Demario Fuller for answering the most questions on IXL in her class way to go to Maria it's obvious you're a very hard worker and now it's golden Google that for Going the Distance awards for this week. Delivering a joke hello Eastside explorers it's time for going to dis drawing you guys are doing such a great job look at there being all of these names of one just went in the wrong one all of these names of just kindergarteners doing a fantastic job way to go Kindergarten first grade to all the way up okay our first winner from kindergarten down in here okay or first winner is from his Loopers class and it's Maxwell King well good job keep it up our next winter from kindergarten is from his rawson's class and it's Courtney dolyn Courtney way to go good job all right first graders how about from mrs. Bowen class Lincoln free software to go Lincoln our next winner from first grade Miss bachelor's class Marshawn Marshawn Lawler way to go marshad keep up the good work 2nd graders from mrs. Miller's class Alexandra Acosta Murillo way2go Alexandra next second grader is from mrs. Porter's class Andrew Andrew Lopez way to go buddy keep up the good work from third grade way over there from this is Driscoll's class Maine. and our last third grader for this week is from Miss cresties class and it's Avery McWilliams way to go Avery keep it up girl way to go 4th grade to there fourth grade from Mystic use class Elijah Williams way to go Elijah and our last fourth grader for this week is from his reisinger's class and it's Sherry case where they go Sherry keep up the good work and once again even though we're not together thank you for being proud positive and productive ahoy mateys dr. Scott good morning I feel like I'm the captain of a ship here if you can look around maybe a little bit guess where I'm at I'm on the playground I wish it was you all that on the playground but I'm here to tell you a great joke for the week so here it is what did the slow tomato say to the others I'll catch up I know it was kind of a grown today but I think it's still a good one let me also say students it is midterm time so you will be seeing some grades and attendance coming out from your teacher and the next few days if you have already got that by the time this video is done please make sure you have some of the things that have not been turned in that you're turning those in there still time for that but some of them you said you have a lot to make up attendance does matter and there are still some participation grades that are happening as well so please make sure you have time to get those grades up if you need to thanks for all your hard work and I'll be back again next week with another great joke have a good day have a great week
