Proud, Positive, Productive

Mrs. Turner's Speech Therapy Page

I have been a Speech-Language Pathologist at Eastside Elementary since the school opened in August 2005. I serve as the Department Head for the ACS Speech-Language Pathology Department. I am a Teacher Liaison for our E2 Parent Club. I also am the Webmaster for our Eastside Elementary website and I manage all of the social media for our school, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. I co-produce and co-direct a weekly TV news broadcast with Mrs. Womack called “E2 News”.  The "E2 News" is shown over our closed-circuit TV system on Monday mornings and is shared with the public on our school’s Facebook page, YouTube, and website. I also have an After School Club with Miss Cresgy called, "E2 News Video Club." Our student club members write, rehearse, video, and edit their commercials, announcements, and informational pieces that become part of the E2 News broadcast. Students learn how to use the green screen and how to edit their video segments using the "Green Screen by Do Ink" app. I am continuing to learn more about video productions right along with our students, and it has been a great experience for all of us!

This was an exciting event hosted by the Madison County Chamber of Commerce. Seven area teachers from seven Madison County school corporations were winners of the Best Teacher in Madison County award. I was thrilled to be the teacher that the Chamber of Commerce business members voted to be the winner for Anderson Community Schools. It was an honor and an evening I will never forget!
