Biography

I worked for the Anderson Community School Corporation as a Speech-Language Pathologist from February 1979 until May 2022. After 43 years of doing a job that I loved, I made the difficult decision to retire. I had been one of the two Speech-Language Pathologists at Eastside Elementary since the school opened in August 2005. I didn't want to completely step away from the school and job that I loved, so I agreed to stay on as the webmaster for the Eastside website during the 2022-2023 school year. I was called back to my SLP position at E2 during the 2023-2024 school year and I worked 5 days per week. For the 2024-2025 school year, I am working three days per week and job sharing with another SLP. I am also continuing as the E2 webmaster. E2 is a very special place and I love my job, so continuing to work part-time is the perfect mix of work and retirement for me.

This was an exciting event hosted by the Madison County Chamber of Commerce. Seven area teachers from seven Madison County school corporations were recipients of the Best Teacher in Madison County award. I was thrilled to be the teacher that the Chamber of Commerce business members voted to be the winner for Anderson Community Schools. It was an honor and an evening I will never forget!
