Biography

     My name is Susan Miller and I teach second grade here at Eastside Elementary.  I have been an educator for 40+ years, teaching in a variety of roles and grade levels.  Though I have spent a large portion of my career in second and first grade, I have also taught fifth grade, junior high and high school.  I am also a licensed special education teacher with a focus on learning disabilities.  Working with children with reading problems, I taught Reading Recovery for seven years and was a literacy coach for a year.  I have taught at Liberty Christian and Frankton Schools, but most of my career, 31 years, I have been with ACS.  

     Personally, I have been happily married for 43 years to my high school sweetheart.  We have two adult married children who live in Indianapolis and three grandchildren who have stolen our hearts.  My husband Jerry and I love to go camping and have enjoyed most of the state parks.  My main passion is teaching though and I am excited about this school year.
