Biography

My name is Sonia Caldwell, I will be your new assistant principal this year. This is my 23rd year as an educator in ACS. I started as a self-contained Mild teacher for many years. From there I was a 2nd-grade teacher, a PAR Consultant, a Reading Specialist, and District Coach. When I left the classroom two years ago, I became the Director of Southview Preschool. I am so excited to be back in the Elementary setting!

I have degrees in Elementary and Special Education. I received a Master's in Elementary education and another Master's in Curriculum and Instruction. I am also one of the district-licensed Dyslexia trained staff. I recently received my Administration License and am excited for this Administrative role.

On a personal level, I am a graduate of ACS. I grew up in Anderson, Indiana. I have lived in other cities in Indiana, but I found my way back home years ago. I love my community and try to spend my free time working with community organizations and non-profits to increase the quality of life and anything having to do with the arts. I am the co-founder and president of A Town Center, Inc. a community art organization downtown. I am a happy pet parent to 6 amazing fur babies.  I am passionate about my community and education.  I am so excited to work with you this year!
