Biography

Hello!  My name is Mrs. Friend, and I am the teacher for the Autism classroom!  I am excited to begin this program at E2 and to be returning to Eastside!  This is my 5th year teaching and 8th year at ACSC!  The past 4 years, I have been at Edgewood Elementary as the K-2 moderate/functional skills teacher. 

 

I graduated from Anderson University in 2010 with a BA in music education.  After I began working as a para-educator, I realized my true passion was special education, and I went to Ball State University to get my masters in special education, which I completed in 2015.  I am passionate about seeing every student succeed in a variety of environments, whether that be in my classroom or with their peers in a general education classroom!

 

I have been married for 7 wonderful years to my husband Chad, and we have a beautiful and independent toddler, Olivia.  We also have a dog named Lucy who loves to cuddle! 

 

Fun fact about me: I have lived in five states- California, Florida, Texas, Oregon, and Indiana!
