Karen Griner » Biography

Biography

Mrs. Griner was raised in Chesterfield, IN, and attended Anderson Community Schools throughout her childhood. She graduated from Highland High School as Senior Class President in 1994.  She married her husband, Benjamin, in 2000 and they live in Markleville.  Her dual bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Primary Elementary Education was earned in May of 1999 from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.  
 
Mrs. Griner has two daughters.  Her oldest daughter, Makenna, currently attends Ball State University and is pursuing an Elementary Education degree. Her youngest daughter, Marissa, is in high school and keeps busy with friends and softball.
 
Mrs. Griner began her career with Anderson Community School Corporation in 1999 and has taught 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade while at Tenth Street Elementary and Valley Grove Elementary.  Mrs. Griner began a new career path as the Literacy Instructional Coach for Eastside Elementary School in 2022-2023 and has loved every minute of it!
 
When Mrs. Griner is not working, she loves spending time with her family and Goldendoodle, Tessa.
Mrs. Griner enjoys traveling, flying, camping, boating, shopping and keeping busy.
